Sharing Home Planning Experiences
In my future upcoming blogs I will be posting about my experiences as a Residential Planner. I have been designing homes for clients to build, sell, &/or just dream about for 34 years. This blogging thing is new to me, but I think I'm going to enjoy this so the story-teller in me can escape once a month or so. I hope to share trends that I see in home planning. I hope to share do's & don'ts that I frequently share with clients. I hope to share projects from "Conception to Collection" (to steal a phrase from a friend/old client).
Every home planning experience is different. Just when I think I've seen it all, a new interesting scenario, client, or request shows up. I thoroughly enjoy what I do. It's not work to me.....well, not entirely true...but for the most part it's not work. Creating someone's dream, bringing light to a client's vision, solving a wish-list, helping builders make a sale, & creating something that will bring joy to families for generations to come....this is what I love to do.
I feel blessed that my profession was meant for me. All of my experiences in life & those who raised me molded me to become what I enjoy. My whole life I have been surrounded by architects, builders, & realtors. Not the famous ones you read about, but everyday hard working, ordinary craftsman in their profession. They were (are) my best teachers in life & in this industry.
So the upcoming experience I hope to share with you in the future will have little to do with what I learned in books & classrooms. I learn(ed) more by experiencing & doing, creating & building, fixing & solving, failing & succeeding. And believe me, I have learned a lot & continue to learn more every day. I hope you enjoy & learn too.
